From 22 to 25 May, members of the Academic Underwater Research Club (AKBP) from Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń participated in their fourth training and integration camp, held at the “Jacques” diving base on the picturesque Lake Orłowskie in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Province.
Four days of intensive diving practice, combined with relaxation in great company and favourable weather, allowed participants not only to enhance their skills but also to strengthen the bonds among club members. Under the supervision of Dr. Mateusz Popek and Szymon Mosakowski, M.A., students carried out a series of specialized underwater exercises using professional diving equipment.
The results were impressive — many participants successfully passed practical exams for the Navigator Diver and Night Diver certifications. One of the highlights was a night dive under the moonlight, which, although demanding, offered unforgettable emotions and valuable experience.
In addition to underwater activities, there was also time to explore the lake and unwind. As tradition has it, evenings were spent around the campfire under a starry sky — sharing stories, celebrating diving achievements, and reinforcing the camaraderie that lies at the heart of every expedition.
This fourth AKBP camp once again proves that learning and passion can go hand in hand with integration and adventure. For participants, it was not only an opportunity to earn new qualifications, but also a unique chance to strengthen bonds with fellow enthusiasts of the underwater world.
We’re already looking forward to the next trip!
